The ideas for this site began as a feasibility study for Direct Democracy. While investigating how Direct Democracy could work, the need for a debate/decision/voting style website arose. The result is the idea of the “Decision Website”.
Now the idea of the Decision Website has taken on a life of its own. Simply building this tool would address many of the problems that currently plague us. Moving to Direct Democracy is just an optional way we could proceed.
We know that we are constantly being fed information. Wouldn’t it be better as a citizenry to feed ourselves? Yet we lack the free time to analyze and critique information. The Decision Website is a method to assign people the task of thoroughly debating the issues. They will then provide us with solid analysis and an array of innovative solutions. We have time to read those well-crafted solutions to decide which ones make the most sense.
The good news is that this is all very doable and in a short period of time. It is not easy to manage a debate that will accurately sort out information and opinions using logic and careful critique. But we now have AI tools and if we can build a self-driving car, I think we can make some good headway on a suitable debate website.
