Who's Against the Decision Website?
.
Who wouldn’t want to see issues debated with constructive methods? Who would be against a more informed citizenry? Is there anyone that would dislike seeing people work together? Doesn’t everyone want to see an improved democracy?
.
Well, guess what?

There will be resistance to this idea of strong democracy. We need to be alert and watchful of the discourse going on around us. It’s a time to understand the cross-motives that are at play with politicians, business, and media. We need to understand our own shortcomings such as our biases, societal conditioning, and lack of full knowledge. Isn’t this what we want… combining our ideas so that our conclusions are more intelligent and precise? And don’t we want to improve our own ability to think critically?
.
Fortunately for us, we will no longer be following people, but rather shifting to the pursuit of better ideas. Let any outside critiques be added to our debate where they belong. We will begin to see the difference between those trying to influence us and those with the integrity to submit their logic to the test.
.
Politicians and corporate leaders will try to make it seem like society will be at risk. But it won’t be. Any move towards more democracy will have benefits for all. Plus, the move to an improved democracy and far better discourse has virtually no risk for the citizenry.
.
Opponents will say that participation by the common people in policy and decision-making will be disastrous. That has a similar ring to what the royalty and aristocrats said to America in 1776.

Some will use the media and the Internet to try and divide us, doing whatever they can to muddy the waters and create controversy. But we can sort it out. If we calm down and quit rushing to judgement, and if we get serious with our thinking so that we listen and critique… then we will find out that we have the smarts. All of us. We simply need to quit getting sidetracked and swayed. This is definitely the people’s time.
.
After we make progress toward a more robust democracy, the politicians will try to appease us. Just imagine the Democrats and Republicans suddenly working well together. Legislation might pass to make college free and help past students with their debt. Politicians will say, “Stick with us, citizens. We’ll make your world better.” But there is every sensible reason to keep going with the Decision Website and see where it takes us.
.
Will we see attitudes change? Might politicians start to put the country over their personal career? Could high–level business folks identify more as a citizen than they do as an employee of a company? Can all of us put our current political divisions aside and focus on our democracy?

It is important to note that opponents do not represent a large quantity of people. The government and media corporations have the microphone and the spotlight. It is a big advantage for them. They could blanket us with repeated negative coverage. They might frighten us and try to psychologically persuade us. But we can keep our heads on straight. We can exhibit enough mental energy and toughness to see the truth of the matter.
.
The wealthy and powerful of the world will do whatever is necessary to sabotage our efforts. Their time will be up if we put the Decision Website into play. They might manipulate the economy to make us think our idea is causing the chaos. However, we will pay attention.
.
Remember, we are the voters and the customers of this world. We are also the workers that drive every institution in society. Our influence can be overpowering if we act together. Let’s be strong and implement a vastly improved democracy. Then we will solve the rest of our nation’s and the world’s problems.
